A New Partnership Supporting Quality Infrastructure in Timor-Leste

  • Author: JASANZ

JASANZ recently welcomed representatives from the Instituto para a Qualidade de Timor-Leste, Instituto Publico (IQTL, I.P.) to Canberra for the signing of a cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening quality infrastructure and conformity assessment capability in Timor-Leste.

Representing JASANZ at the signing were Alison Scammell (General Manager, Corporate Services), Nick Prosser (Head of Partnership), and Valeria Thomson (Learning & Development Specialist).

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to strengthening the systems that support quality, confidence, and international trade. By working together, JASANZ and IQTL, I.P. aim to support greater confidence in products and services while creating new opportunities for Timor-Leste businesses to participate in regional and global markets.

Strong quality infrastructure plays a critical role in enabling trade and economic development. As Timor-Leste continues to strengthen its national quality ecosystem, collaboration between accreditation bodies, standards organisations, regulators, and conformity assessment providers will help support trusted outcomes for businesses, consumers, and government.

The agreement also reinforces JASANZ’s commitment to supporting quality infrastructure development across the region and fostering partnerships that contribute to economic growth, market access, and confidence in trade.
