JASANZ contributed to Accreditation Matters 2026, sharing insights on some of the key issues shaping the future of assurance.

Representing JASANZ, Nick Prosser (Head of Partnerships) and Matt Pitt (General Manager, International & Technical Services) delivered presentations on two topics at the forefront of industry discussion.

In AI in Accredited Work: Governance that Keeps Pace, Nick Prosser examined the growing role of artificial intelligence in accredited activities and the importance of governance frameworks that can evolve alongside rapidly advancing technologies.

In From Policy to Practice: Operating Schemes that Deliver Trust, Matt Pitt explored how conformity assessment schemes are designed, including the role of frameworks such as ISO/IEC 17067:2026 and the importance of alignment between government, standards bodies and industry. He also highlighted the growing role of accreditation in international trade, including through new conformity assessment arrangements, and considered where well-designed schemes could deliver value across the Asia Pacific.

Together, the presentations demonstrated how accreditation continues to evolve in response to emerging technologies, changing regulatory environments and global trade priorities.
