3.1 Do you have a complaints policy?

We take complaints seriously and deal with all ‘good faith’ complaints. We have a formal complaints policy which:

1. is fair, open and transparent
2. is systematic and straightforward
3. is confidential
4. ensures we adopt a positive approach when managing complaints, with both complainant and respondent
5. involves JASANZ representatives at the appropriate level and right up to the CEO if necessary
6. ensures we deal with complaints in a timely manner.

3.2 What is a ‘good faith’ complaint?

We only deal with good faith complaints. These are complaints that meet all these conditions:

• are made only after the complainant has made every effort to resolve the problem before approaching JASANZ
• are substantiated with evidence
• are not subject to legal or regulatory or administrative action
• are not based on hearsay
• are not an attempt to discredit or engage in lobbying and/or influencing
• relate to the performance of an JASANZ employee or a certification or inspection body we have accredited.

3.3 How do I make a complaint?

All complaints must be made in writing to the Chief Executive Officer. Complete the form below to submit your complaint to JASANZ.

If your organisation is interested in becoming accredited we require detailed information so that we can complete a pre-application review. This information is detailed on a pre-application form.

Contractors are engaged on a three-year contract term at an agreed daily rate. The time commitment required of contractors varies greatly dependent upon the contractors’ location, schemes for which they are approved, areas of specialisation, availability and customer requirements; based on these factors volumes of work can vary from anywhere between one or two days per year to regular engagements. In line with JASANZ policy on the management of conflicts, a contractor cannot be used in an assessment team where a known conflict exists with the client organisations. This can significantly limit contractors who have worked for a number of JASANZ Conformity Assessment Bodies.
