Strong international partnerships are at the heart of a trusted and effective accreditation system.

JASANZ recently welcomed Brahim Houla, inaugural Chair of Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated (Global ACI), to Canberra. The visit reflected the important role Australia and New Zealand play within the global accreditation system and the value of continued cooperation as accreditation evolves to meet new challenges.

Discussions focused on the future of accreditation and its role in supporting international trade, regulatory confidence and globally connected economies. As governments and industry respond to emerging technologies, changing risks and increasingly complex supply chains, strong international relationships remain essential to maintaining confidence in accredited outcomes.

The visit also highlighted the enduring value of the trans-Tasman accreditation partnership, with JASANZ marking its 35th anniversary in 2026. For more than three decades, Australia and New Zealand have worked together to build an accreditation system recognised internationally for its independence, technical capability and integrity.
