News from the Accelerate Training Academy
- Author: JASANZ
This year is progressing well for the JASANZ Accelerate Training Academy with our training program, new courses launched and the training partnerships we are enjoying with conformity assessment bodies (CABs) and scheme owners.
We launched the Academy in August 2020, and since then have had more than 540 learners who have completed more than 800 activities through our multiple delivery formats including eLearning, facilitator-led virtual sessions and blended training.

Training Partnerships
We have partnered with a range of conformity assessment parties in the last 12 months to deliver training for a variety of audiences. These partnerships include:
- PEFC – delivery of training in ISO/IEC 17065 and ISO/IEC 17021-1 for new accreditation bodies, certification bodies, scheme owners, government regulators and industry parties in developing South East Asia.
- FAMI-QS – ongoing delivery of training in conformity assessment and ISO/IEC 17021-1 for organisations that have applied for FAMI-QS certification. This is a mandatory part of their application process.
- CABs – delivery of training programs for new auditors and to meet auditor competence requirements across the program standards, IAF MDs and emotional intelligence.
- Applicant CABs – delivery of training in the program level standards and the JASANZ application process.
- Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, New Zealand – development and delivery of training for product certification bodies, certification holders for the CodeMark New Zealand Scheme and the major changes.
- Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, New Zealand – development and delivery of training for a new scheme, Modular Component Manufacturing Scheme, for certification bodies and industry stakeholders.
- National Disability Insurance Agency – development and delivery of scheme changes to integrate aged care services for young people. Training will be delivered to the Approved Quality Auditors.
We receive great feedback from our partners and participants.
“We were looking for an accreditation body that has experience with scheme owners. JASANZ was already working closely with scheme owners and is familiar with FAMI-QS and delivering training to industry. JASANZ is the right partner for this project. This training is provided as a mandatory requirement for organisations applying for certification with FAMI-QS.
Thank you to the whole team of JASANZ for supporting FAMI-QS to go through this process and provide this training.”
Emmanouil (Manolis) Geneaitakis
Secretary General, FAMI-QS
“I found it (the webinar) to be well paced and the content was well explained. Having gone through the training content, I felt the strongest part about the webinar is how it acted as an excellent consolidation focus point and review. I thought the presenter’s experience and authority came
through but there was also some sensitivity in acknowledging the fact, and demonstrating this, that this was a group of professionals (he was presenting to).”
Paul Wilson, PEFC
“The case study during the breakroom session and the poll questions are the most valuable/ useful. These help to ensure understanding at each point and given chances to hear sharing from other countries.”

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE FOR AUDITORS AND ASSESSORS
DATE: 6 DECEMBER 2022
Emotional intelligence is now considered as important, if not more important, than technical knowledge and skills in the workplace. Emotional intelligence is defined as a set of competencies demonstrating the ability an individual has to recognise their behaviours, moods and impulses and to manage them best according to the situation. It is also the ability to use social skills to understand the emotions of others and use this information to support communication and relationships.
This course is designed for auditors and assessors to understand and build their own emotional intelligence to be able to more effectively manage their interactions and communications with clients and colleagues. This course is completed with online learning and a 4-hour facilitator-led virtual session.
