What we do
Anyone can make a claim. Accreditation provides confidence that those claims have been independently assessed.
JASANZ is Australia and New Zealand’s joint accreditation body. Through expert accreditation and tailored schemes, we assess the organisations that carry out certification, inspection, testing and verification activities. We assess their competence, impartiality and capability to perform their work against recognised standards and requirements.
Once accredited, the certificates, test reports and inspection findings these organisations provide can be relied on by businesses, regulators, governments and communities.

Accreditation doesn’t operate in isolation. Australian Technical Infrastructure Alliance (ATIA)
ATIA brings together Australia's four standards and conformance organisations to strengthen collaboration, efficiency and innovation across the national standards infrastructure. What sets us apart
Government-established and trans-Tasman by design
Established by Treaty between the Australian and New Zealand governments, JASANZ is the joint accreditation body for both countries, operating through a single accreditation framework. This shared foundation supports consistency and cooperation across the Tasman.
Independent and impartial
JASANZ operates independently of the organisations it accredits. Our accreditation decisions are based on evidence, recognised requirements and established processes, with safeguards in place to protect impartiality and manage conflicts of interest.
