More than milk: how accredited certification supports food safety

Every carton of milk, block of cheese, or packaged meal carries a promise: that what’s inside is safe to eat. Behind that promise is a system of checks and controls that most consumers never see.

For dairy producers and other food businesses, accredited certification to ISO 22000 Food Safety Management Systems provides independent assurance that food safety systems are implemented effectively and operating as intended. Built on Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles, these systems help businesses identify, manage, and reduce food safety risks throughout production.

Certification by a JASANZ-accredited certification body means a business’s food safety systems have been independently assessed against internationally recognised requirements. This gives producers greater confidence when demonstrating their commitment to customers, regulators, and supply chain partners.

For many businesses, accredited certification also supports access to domestic and international markets by providing confidence that food safety practices have been independently verified through a recognised accreditation framework.
